For this walk we started in the little village of Scorton in the forest of Bowland, about 13 miles north of Preston.PR31AU
We parked up and headed up the hill of snow hill lane, and over the motorway bridge for about half a mile, you will see a number of car parking spaces opposite wyresdale park, we didn’t park here as it was a busy day and they were all full and leaving the car in Scorton meant we could return to it and grab a bacon butty from the little road side cafe next to the Priory.
From here take the right hand path and keep heading up snow hill lane, after a couple of hundred yards head through the kissing gate and start the climb up to the trig point at the summit of nicky nook.
Heading on from the trig point take the path leading down towards Grizedale reservoir on your right hand side, at the bottom take a right on to the footpath and follow the reservoir and then Grizedale brook for about a mile, once through the small wooded area you will see a path up to your right that takes you through a gate and on to Higher lane. Follow this for about half a mile and you will arrive back at the top of snow hill lane, take a left and follow your way back to your starting point.
